Case Studies / Mexx
Fashion giant Mexx took five years to find the perfect location for its flagship Capital store - on the former C&A / Burberry site on Edinburgh's Princes Street. Needless to say, Specific Heat had considerably less time to fit it out - just 10 weeks in fact.
Working to The Keenan Consultancy's designs, we installed a high efficiency VRF air conditioning system, all the associated supply and extract work, an electric heating and back-up system, plus a new plumbing system serving two floors and some 13,500 sq ft.
What helped was that we had a blank canvas to
work on, with all the essential services in place. What didn't was that we had to transport lots of kit over a bridge into another building where the services and air handling units were located. Closing off one of Edinburgh's busiest streets at its busiest time of year wasn't particularly festive, but the store did open on schedule, in plenty of time for the fireworks.
